Toyota’s Highlander is a no-compromise mid-sized three-row SUV that brings the best in technology, capability, safety and comfort together in a stylish package. For 2017 Toyota aims to impress with significant technology improvements and equipment enhancements, inside and out, include a brand-new direct shift 8-speed automatic transmission.
Conveying prestige and strength, the exterior design of the highlight complements a refined interior space that truly sets the bar in the segment. The third-generation model, no entering its fourth year, offers comfortable room for eight passengers and a choice of two powertrains (3.5L V6 gas engine or 3.5L V6 Hybrid), and four well-appointed models to select from. All Highlander Hybrid models offer all-wheel drive with intelligence along with all the gas models, while FWD is available on LE gas-powered models.
Drivers will appreciate the addition of a new sporty SE model. For an added touch of sportiness, Highlander SE offers unique 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, tuned suspension for a more athletic ride and sporty dark paint treatment to the front grille, which is also integrated into the headlamps and roof rails. Inside, the SE will stand apart with black leather trimmed seats with silver stitching and pattern seat inserts, black front tray and matching door and dash accents.
Performance across the Highlander lineup is enhanced for 2017 with the addition of a new direct shift 8-speed automatic transmission paired with new and more powerful 3.5L V6 Direct Injection Engine. The new transmission is more compact and will provide better efficiency with its 8-speed range of gears. In efforts to help save on fuel, most Highlander gas models will come standard with a new Stop and Start Engine System (S&S).
Tasteful styling enhancements inside and out grab your attention. All together the 2017 Highlander adds up to the perfect family vehicle and will be arriving at Toyota showrooms in the fall of 2016.
We look forward to sharing more pictures of the new model closer to its release date!
